Dushanbe. 27 August. “Asia Plus” — Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon, today on August 27, received Commander of the United States Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Dzh. Ostina III.

As reports the press service of the Head of state, at the meeting they discussed the issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States in a wide range; moreover, the sides paid special attention to the cooperation in the fields of defense and regional security.

E. Rahmon said that Tajikistan and the United States pay special attention to the cooperation in the sphere of regional security, peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Lloyd Austin III, has highly evaluated the role of Tajikistan in regional security, thanked the Republic for the support of the international security force in Afghanistan.

US General stressed that Tajikistan is at the forefront of the fight against the drugs in Afghan. He declared about the commitment of his country to support the Republic of Tajikistan in the fields of economy, security, social sector.
