Dushanbe. 28 August. “Asia Plus” — Economic Agencies of Tajikistan and Turkey plan to develop cooperation in the field of free economic zones (FEZ).

As reports the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the strengthening of the Tajik-Turkish economic relations were discussed at the meeting of the Deputy Economic Development and the Trade Minister Umeda Davlatzoda with a delegation of the Ministry of Economy of Turkey, arrived in Dushanbe.

“The sides discussed the issues of trade and economic relations between the countries, especially in the free economic zones, attracting the investment in FEZ, holding the seminars and exchange of experience in this direction,” – said in a statement.

They expressed confidence that in future multilateral economic cooperation between the two countries, in particular on free economic zones, will productively develop.

Recall that in Tajikistan there are four free economic zones – “Sughd” FEZ, “Dangara”, “Panj” and “Ishkashim.”

The total amount of the investments, which were attracted by the SEZ, estimates at almost 100 million somoni (about $ 16 million at the current rate).

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, for this moment on three FEZs of the Republic (“Sughd”, “Dangara” and “Panj”) registered 60 subjects, 19 of which have already started the production. In particular, we are talking about 16 regions of “Sughd” FEZ and three subjects of “Dangara” FEZ. It is expected that by the end of the third quarter two more subject of “Panj” FEZ will start to work.

Meanwhile, four subjects of “Sughd” FEZ have established the realization of their products in the regional markets.

In particular plastic production of the joint venture “Star Plast” is exported to Kyrgyzstan. Tajik-Turkish JV “Silkoat Boya” has exported their products (external wall paint and Kohler) in the first half of this year in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and Russia in the amount of $ 500 thousand.

The “Tadzhprof” company has delivered aluminum profiles in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan in the amount of $ 120 thousand. Ltd. “Real” products in the amount of nearly $ 200 thousand were exported to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
