The membership of the national wrestling team of Tajikistan for performances at the World Championships in this sport, which will take place from 6 to 13 September in the US Las Vegas, has been already assigned.
According to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism under the Government of the republic of Tajikistan, the honor at the next wrestlers’ world forum will represent 6 athletes.
In freestyle wrestling acts Bahodur Kodirov, a medalist of the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Asian champion among juniors, winner of several international tournaments in the weight up to 84 kg; Iskandari Rustam, the champion of Tajikistan in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling in the weight category up to 97 kg, a member of XXX Summer Olympic Games 2012 in London; Farhad Annakulov, the winner of the Asian Championship in the weight category up to 125 kg. Tajikistan`s wrestling coach is Abdurozik Olimov.
In Greco-Roman wrestling from Tajikistan at the World Cup will act a medalist of youth Asian Championship Khusrav Obloberdiev (66 kg), the champion of Tajikistan Nekruz Mirhodzhaev (up to 71 kg) and multiple medalist of Asian Championships and Asian Games Murodjon Tuichiev (130 kg). The Head coach of Tajikistan”s Greco-Roman wrestling team, Habib Abdullayev, hopes that at the upcoming world championships his student will achieve a good result.
World Championship in Las Vegas will be the first qualifying match on the eve of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Fighters who took 1-6 places will get an Olympic license.
In the entire history of the World Wrestling Championship, Tajikistan has only one medal – in 2007 in Baku Yusup Abdusalomov in weight to 84 kg won a silver medal.
