Dushanbe. 7 September. “Asia Plus” — The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported about the detention of two officers of the Defense Ministry of Tajikistan for “assistance and complicity” in the implementation of armed attacks on September 4 at Dushanbe and Vahdat.
According to the Ministry of Interior, in particular were detained a Colonel Mustafo Nazarov, deputy commander for political education of landing assault brigade of Ministry of Defense, and Major Yusufov Naseem, Senior Inspector of the Department of Finance and Budget of the Ministry of Defense.
Interior Ministry claims that “these persons knew about the planned attack and were able to report about them, but their inaction and complicity with criminals caused the death of innocent people”.
Also, the Ministry of Interior mentions two retired officers – Bahodur Kabirov and Tojiddin Sobirov. “They received about a thousand somoni, they have a family, car, no difficulties, but they went on the offense that led to the deaths of people”, – said the Interior Ministry.
According to the Interior Ministry, gang members at night on September 3 gathered in the house of Sirodjiddin Odinaev, who was known as Khoja Sirodzh, Sari Osie Street, and waited for orders from Khoja Halim. Interior Ministry stressed that S. Odinaev previously worked in the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan does not comment the accusations against the officers. The Interior Ministry, despite the fact that at the moment detained about 20 members of the group, still has not named the motives that drove the attackers and their purpose.
