Commissioning of the railway Dushanbe – Kurgan-Tyube – Kulyab is extremely important and valuable for further improvement of the welfare of the population, progress and development of the national economy, said President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, who became today the first passenger, who travelled on this road on the train.

He noted that with the opening of the road will establish a permanent rail link between one of the largest regions of the country – the Khatlon oblast and Dushanbe.

“With the start of operation of the railway will be comprehensively simplified and, of course, cheaper the movement of people and freight from the center to the South of the country,” said the President at the ceremony of commissioning of this railway.

According to the President, the new railway creates favorable conditions for transportation of goods and products of the country to the borders of neighboring countries, in the short term to deliver them up to the ports, with unlimited options for transportation.

“The most important thing, he added, that the railway is considered to be an important factor in the development of the industry, it will allow to build dozens of new industrial enterprises in all the cities and districts of Khatlon region, to ensure the sustainable development of cities and districts of the region and the country.”
