Tajik president Emomali Rahmon, who was on a state visit to India from November 14-18, met Mr. Srinivas Khoday, the head of Khoday Group of Industries, in New Delhi on December 17.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the sides discussed issues related to investment in enhancement of Tajikistan’s, implementation of energy projects in Tajikistan, particularly the process of implementation of investment project aiming at construction of hydropower plants on the Obi Khingob River – Nourobod-1, Nourobod-2 and Fondaryo.
It should be noted that the capacity of hydropower plants of the Nourobod-1 hydropower plant makes 400 MW, Nourobod-2 — 520 MW, and Fondaryo — 135 MW.
The sides reportedly reached an agreement that the relevant structures of Tajikistan together with the specialists of Khoday Group of Industries will thoroughly examine the projects for construction of power plants and submit their conclusions to the Tajik government.
The Khoday Group, also known as the House of Khodays, is an Indian multi-service business group based in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was founded in 1906 by Khoday Eshwarsa. The Electronics Division is engaged in the manufacture of equipment for geo-physical investigations.
