Members of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) have unanimously approved the draft law on seismic safety.

A regular seating of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, took place on February 22.

The seismic safety bill, in particular, notes that buildings being constructed in Tajikistan and building materials will be tested for seismic stability.

The bill also provides for monitoring the seismic zones in the country.

Besides, the bill stipulates that the procedure of examination of buildings under construction and building materials for seismic resistance will be determined by the government.
