The practice of cutting off electricity to some areas of Dushanbe is going on.  Today, three neighborhoods in the Tajik capital have been left without electricity for seven hours.

“Today, electricity supply is cut off to Mehrobod, Navobod and Hamadoni neighborhoods from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in connection with routine maintenance work,” said an official source at the Dushanbe electricity supply network.

It is to be noted that various streets and neighborhoods in the Tajik capital have been left without electricity practically every day since the beginning of the year.

Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan’s state-run power utility company) has explained these power outages by maintenance work on Dushanbe’s power substations.
