Turkish minivans appear on Tajik capital’s streets

Date:

Samples of three models of minivans manufactured by Turkey’s Aki Company have appeared on Dushanbe streets.  They run along route #16.

The model, which will be most liked by residents of Dushanbe, will be launched into mass production.  Tajik-Turkish JV Akia Avesto Automotive Industry will begin assembling them in Dushanbe

Recall, President Emomali Rahmon officially inaugurated the bus-assembling plant, Akia Avesto, on March 19 this year, though it has already operated since February last year.

The Akia Avesto plant that was built in Dushanbe’s Gulbuta area operates on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed between the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) “Nasbi Naqliyoti Barqi va Ducharkha” (Tajikistan) and Turkey’s Akia Company.

All necessary technologies and equipment for implementation of this project have been delivered to the country from Turkey by Avesto Group LLC.  The plant reportedly has an annual capacity of 250-300 vehicles.
