Somon Air expected to operate a special flight to New Delhi next week

Tajikistan’s privately owned air carrier Somon Air plans to operate a special flight from Dushanbe to New Delhi on September 9, according to the company’s official page on Facebook.  

Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who wish to travel to Delhi must have a medical visa issued by the Indian Embassy in the Republic of Tajikistan starting from March 2020 as well as have a certificate showing the negative result of COVID-19, obtained by testing by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, made no earlier than 96 hours (4 days) prior to arrival in India and submit self-declaration form on the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel.

The company notes that all passengers must wear face masks and disposable gloves at the airport and on board.

Passengers with high body temperature or symptoms of illness will not to be permitted aboard.

The company will operate a one-way flight and will not take passengers on the way back to Dushanbe. 

Meanwhile, travisa.com says a Medical Visa is given to those seeking medical treatment in reputed/recognized specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India. Up to two attendants who are blood relatives are allowed to accompany the applicant under separate Medical Attendant visas.  This visa is not applicable for surrogacy.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.  Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of President of the Republic of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials.
