The Sughd regional maternity hospital in Khujand has been closed for a 14-day quarantine, an official source within the Sughd Health Directorate told Asia-Plus Friday (September 4) afternoon. 

According to him, the maternity hospital was closed for quarantine as several cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were detected in the maternity hospital.

“The virus was detected both in health workers and obstetric patients,” the source said, noting that the infected persons had been sent to the Sughd regional hospital.

Disinfection and other sanitary and hygienic measures will be carried out in the maternity hospital all the medical staff will also undergo a 14-day quarantine, the source added.
