«The potential of the Tajik-Kyrgyz negotiation process has not been exhausted», – Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan

Asia-Plus

«Despite the aggression and all this negativity, we are convinced that the only key to solving all the existing problems on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border is the negotiation process, to which there is no other alternative», – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sodik Imomi said at a briefing on September 19.

According to him, «despite the absolutely non-constructive policy of our neighbors, we believe that we still have not exhausted the potential of the bilateral negotiation process».

«We are ready to resolve issues of any complexity step by step in a constructive manner, taking into account mutual interests», – Imomi said.

To do this, he says, the following steps need to be taken:

– consistently implement all signed documents,

– demilitarize border areas,

– leave only border guards at the border.
