A prosecutor in the trial of Saifullo Azimov, who is accused of brutally murdering a woman and her three children in Roudaki district, asked the Supreme Court on December 3 to sentence Azimov to life imprisonment.
According to a source familiar with the trial, two suspects are involved in the case — the 32-year-old Saifullo Azimov and the 16-year-old Numon Saidov. However, their trials are being conducted separately. The source did not provide further details about the court proceedings.
Tragedy in Daryoobod
The murders occurred on the night of September 6, 2025, in the village of Daryoobod, Roudaki district. The victims were 44-year-old Shahlo Nazarova, her daughters Habiba (10th grade) and Homida (8th grade), and her son Sharaf (6th grade). All were killed by multiple knife wounds and blows from a sledgehammer.
The only survivor was the father, Halim Ibrohimov, who was working in Russia and returned home after learning of the tragedy.
Two suspects and the motive behind the crime
A few days after the incident, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan announced the arrest of two suspects, who, according to law enforcement authorities, were acquainted with the victims and had been welcomed into their home. The Ministry noted that the crime was motivated by a "desire for gain," which "turned a neighbor into a murderer."
However, Halim Ibrohimov, the father of the victims, expressed doubts in an interview with Asia-Plus about the involvement of only the two suspects in the crime. He suggested that other individuals might also be implicated in the murder.
Additional arrests
Later, neighbors of the family informed Asia-Plus that four individuals had been arrested as part of the investigation. However, the authorities have not officially confirmed these additional arrests.
This horrific crime continues to spark widespread public outrage in Tajikistan, and the investigation remains a focal point for law enforcement and the public.
