This year, several multi-level parking garages, each at least six stories high, are planned to be built in Dushanbe. This was announced by Bakhtiyor Sharifi, First Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe, during a news conference on February 5.
One of these parking complexes will be located near the Korvon market.
"A parking facility with 1,500 spaces will be built next to the Korvon market. Similar projects will also be gradually implemented in the city center," Sharifi said.
He did not specify other locations where multi-level parking garages are planned.
According to the deputy mayor, last year, a modern parking facility with 483 spaces was completed across from the municipal building, next to Dushanbe Television.
"It meets all safety requirements, and it includes charging stations for electric vehicles," added Bakhtiyor Sharifi.
He emphasized that all the new multi-level parking structures will comply with the standards required for such facilities in the capital.
At a news conference in July 2025, Sharifi mentioned that multi-story parking garages are planned near high-rise buildings, ministries, and other government agencies in Dushanbe to help alleviate traffic congestion. At that time, he highlighted that these parking facilities would be located in high-traffic areas.
It is worth noting that the construction of three parking facilities in Dushanbe was discussed back in 2024. The Dushanbe administration then announced plans to build parking garages on Ayni and Bokhtar streets in the city center, although specific completion dates for these projects were not disclosed. Additionally, the city’s plans included constructing several large parking structures.
Currently, in addition to the aforementioned multi-story parking lot near Dushanbe Television, there is a parking facility near the Korvon market with 448 spaces.
