On August 24, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, who arrived in the Turkmen capital on an official visit. A joint communique was signed on results of talks.
The heads of two states reaffirmed their intention to start comprehensive development of trade-economic relations highlighting the fuel-energy sector, industry, agriculture, construction as well as bank sphere and investments as priority areas of cooperation. The sides also noted the importance of establishing close contacts between businessmen of Turkmenistan and Jordan.
Having stated their desire to steadily develop a constructive long-term dialogue, the sides agreed to prepare a set of cooperation documents covering all priority areas of mutually beneficial partnership. In this context, the sides expressed interest in opening the Turkmen embassy in Amman and the Jordanian embassy in Ashgabat.
King Abdullah II invited the president of Turkmenistan to pay an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of the visit will be agreed via diplomatic channels.
