Indonesia and Uzbekistan look for new cooperation areas

The Republic of Indonesia celebrates its Independence Day, a national holiday, on August 17 (1945). On this special occasion a flag-raising ceremony was held at the Embassy of Indonesia in Tashkent.

A day earlier a press conference was held by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Sjahril Sabaruddin at the Le Grande Plaza Hotel, during which the Ambassador spoke of the results and prospects of bilateral relations. Among other participants of the press conference were the representatives of the Indonesian diplomatic corps.

To a question asked by the BVV reporter, Mr. Sabaruddin noted that Uzbekistan is successfully implementing a number of projects in partnership with Indonesian investors. Among them are UzI, an Uzbek-Indonesian joint venture operating in the telecommunication sphere, the Le Grande Plaza Hotel in Tashkent, which according to the plans should be expanded with the attachment of a new building and a Nusantara restaurant at the Markaziy Hotel.

It should be particularly noted that thanks to the popularity of the Indonesian cuisine among local gourmets and foreign guests, another such place is to be opened in Tashkent soon.

The staff of the Embassy, many of which are very skilled at cooking, regularly participates in various culinary contests and presentations organized in Tashkent, and often win.
