Chinese flour to be sold to low-income families of Issyk-Kul region

Large portion of flour with expected content of melamine and other harmful chemicals will be sold to low-income families of the Issyk-Kul region, the news agency “24.kg” learnt from reliable sources in Kyrgyz government institutions.

The vice-prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Iskenderbek Aidaraliev commanded to unload Chinese flour at the Balykchi railroad station, Wednesday, November 19, 2008.

The National carrier ‘Kyrgyz Temir Jolu’ confirmed the information. According to their data, 16 train cars arrived to Balykchi town today to be unloaded at the Balykchi flourmill plant.

The plant already contains 1,000 tons of Chinese flour. As it is reported, it was brought there some time earlier, underwent gassing and will be soon sold to low-income families of the region at lower prices. First the prices varied from 23 to 27 soms per kilogram, while now it shank to 14-16 soms.
