Uzbek-Polish trade turnover rises 12 times in 2004-07

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Poland increased 12 times in 2004-2005. Export of Poland to Uzbekistan rose 2.5 times and Uzbekistan to Poland grew 20 times, according to statistics of Poland.

Polish-Uzbek trade turnover comprised US$735.2 million and the share of Polish exports to Uzbekistan was US$63 million and imports made up US$672 million. About 93.5% of Polish imports fell to share of gas, which made up 85.7% of total turnover, reported Uzreport.

Bilateral turnover between two countries made up US$134.45 million in ten months of 2008, Polish exports to Uzbekistan comprised US$83.86 million and imports US$50.59 million. Compared to the same period of 2008, the exports of Poland rose by 68.5% and import grew 38.85%, excluding gas supplies.

About 35.6% of Polish exports to Uzbekistan fell to share of machinery and equipment, 13.2% to cattle supplies, 11.6% foodstuff, 10% to chemical industry and 10% to non-ferrous metals. The country also increased exports timber products, furniture, construction materials, etc.

Chemical products account 44.6% of total exports of Uzbekistan to Poland and it is followed by mineral resources (18.6%), cotton yarn, fabrics and products (34%).
