Exhibition of archaeological finds of ancient and medieval art of Uzbekistan is held in Tashkent

Exhibition of archaeological finds “Collection of ancient and medieval art of Uzbekistan” takes place in Tashkent.

Unique exhibits from the collection of Scientific Research Institute affiliated with Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan are presented on the exhibition.

Such exhibition is organized for the first time in Uzbekistan, organizers stated. More than thousand exhibits, referring to the period of time starting from the Bronze Era to early Middle Ages, are presented on it. These are ceramic and glass housewares, metal items, architectural decor fragments. There are many Buddhistic sculptural finds, statues of Buddha of different format, made of clay and gypsum in the collection.

Exhibits from collections of expeditions, held on main architectural memorials in Surkhandarya and Samarkand regions, are also presented on the exhibition. Exhibition takes place in International Caravansary of Culture of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
