The international exhibition titled “Major directions of development of the textile industry of Turkmenistan” was held at the Exhibition Center “Sergi Kosgi” in Ashgabat from 7 to 9 June. The three-day multi-purpose exhibition was devoted to the achievements of one of the fastest growing industries of the national economy, as well as development prospects for mutually beneficial international cooperation in this area.
Dozens of foreign companies – leading manufacturers and suppliers of textiles, textile machinery and chemical products presented their latest technologies and capacities at the forum, Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat. Among the companies there were “Jum Shui” (China), “Bezema”, “Rieter”, “Huntsman” (Switzerland), “Morzoli”, “Savio” (Italy), “Schlafrost”, “BASF”, “Trutzschler”, “Sympatex tehnologies GMBH” (Germany), “Chaikovsky textiles”, “UTUMA” (Russia), “Kamvol” (Belarus), “Le Kler and Meert” (Belgium), “VPK International LLC” (United States), “Kotam Enterprises”, “Engin groups” (Turkey) and others. Delegations of Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI), Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (Kitech) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea brought with them co-operation proposals.
The textile industry of Turkmenistan was represented by more than 30 enterprises producing cotton yarn, silk yarn, various types of fabrics, knitted terry and linen, ready-made garments, and shoe factories and plants for primary treatment of pelt. These are the Turkmenbashi jeans plant, the Turkmenbashi textile plant, the Ashgabat, Kipchak, Geoktepe, Bayramaliysky textile plants whose natural cotton products are exported to 90 countries around the world.
