DUSAHNBE, January 27, Asia-Plus – Chairman of Tajikistan’s Committee for Sports and Physical Training, Sulaymon Abduvohidov, has criticized regional branches of the Committee for failing to properly organize sports activities in the provinces.
On Friday January 27, the Committee hosted a news conference on the results sharply of work carried out in 2005. Sulaymon Abduvohidov, Chairman of the Tajik Committee for Sports and Physical Training speaking to journalists noted that problem particularly was serious in
Sughd
Province
, where the regional sports committee head Kiromiddin Atayev failed to deal with his duties.
“This year, we have not yet received applications from Sughd province confirming participation of sportsmen in the republic competitions,” said Abduvohidov, “Last year, more than 20 competitions in
Tajikistan
were held without participation of athletes from Sughd.”
According to him serious problems are facing development of sports and physical training in rural areas of the country. Among these problems he named lack of professional teachers of physical training, low wage and poor states of stadiums and sports grounds.
