Name of Tajik alpine skier entered in database of International Skiing Federation

DUSHANBE, April 12, Asia-Plus — Tajik alpine skiers Alisher Qudratov has been entered in database of International Skiing Federation (FIS), according to information from Tajikistan National Olympic Committee (NOC).  

Farid Solehov, a spokesman for the Tajik NOC, says Tajik sportsman was entered in the FIC database after participation in the FIS competitions in Iran on April 3-8 2006.  

“This will allow our sportsman to take part international competitions and gather necessary number of points necessary for participating in Olympics Games,” the NOC spokesman said.   

Besides Alisher Qudratov, and Sharipov brothers Abdusattor and Abdughaffor represented Tajikistan in the alpine skiing competitions in Iran.   

According to Solehov, Alisher Qudratov was 23

rd

in the special slalom discipline and the Sharipov brothers Abdusattor and Abdughaffor were 33

rd

and 49

th

respectively.  In the slalom-giant discipline, Alisher took the 25

th

place and Abdusattor and Abdughaffor were 42

nd

and 48

th

respectively.   

In total, 79 sportsmen from Tajikistan, France, Iran, Pakistan, Armenia and Uzbekistan took part in the alpine skiing competitions in Iran.  

Tajikistan’s NOC and the “Telecom Technology” company have provided financial support for our sportsmen to participate in these competitions.
