Tajik servicemen win eight medals at sports and athletics held among friendly armies of CIS nations

’s servicemen have won two silver and six bronze medals at the 6

th

sports and athletics meeting held among friendly armies of the CIS member nations on occasion of the 15

th

anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The competitions were held in the Russian region of Samara from June 27 to July 5.  According to information from the Ministry of Defense (MoD), Tajik sportsmen have won in arm-wrestling and 100-meter race.  Besides, Tajik athletics won four bronze medals in free-style wrestling, one in 3-kilometer race and one in shooting from sub-machine-gun “Kalashnikov”.

In Samara, sportsmen from the armed forces of the CIS countries competed in different sports, including free-style wrestling, arm-wrestling, power-lifting, shooting, etc.   Sportsmen from
