, August 3, Asia-Plus – An international archery tournament in memory of Tajik archer Vadim Sharipov is currently going on in the Kazakh city of
Almaty
.
Ms. Nargis Nabiyeva, the deputy head of
Tajikistan
’s Committee for Sports and Physical Training, has told Asia-Plus that the best Tajik female archers such as Firuza Zubaydova and the Tagoyeva sisters Fotima and Zuhro are representing
Tajikistan
in this archery contest in
Kazakhstan
. “This tournament is held in memory of known Tajik archer and champion of the world Vadim Sharipov, who tragically died in
Kazakhstan
five years ago,” Ms. Nabiyeva said, noting that the tournament in memory of Vadim Sharipov is held in
Kazakhstan
for the second time.
According to her, the tournament will end on August 6, and an open championship of
Kazakhstan
on archery will be held in Almaty from August 7-11. “Our sportswomen also will take put in
Kazakhstan
’s open championship on archery,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
“It is expected that Firuza, Fotima and Zuhro also will take part in the 15
th
Asian Games that will be held in
Qatar
in December this year,” Nargis Nabiyeva noted.
