DUSHANBE, August 25, Asia-Plus — Tajik chess player Farrukh Amonatov, who currently lives and being trained in Moscow, has won an international chess festival “Vladimir Open-2006” that was held in the Russian city of Vladimir on August 15-24.
According to information from Tajikistan’s Chess Federation, Farrukh Amonatov took part in the main tournament of the chess festival – rapid chess. Yesterday, Tajik chess player defeated Russian chess player Yevgeny Romanov and became winner of this tournament. .
The source has noted that thought Amonatov lives and being trained in Moscow he always represents Tajikistan in international chess tournaments.
Chess players from Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Tajikistan took part in the chess festival in Vladimir.
