DUSHANBE, February 9, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan and Ukraine plan to launch in near future joint ventures to develop and operate oil-gas and coal fields in Tajikistan, Asia-Plus has leaned from Qurbonkhol Bobokalonov, head of the oil-gas- and coal department within the Ministry of Energy.
According to him, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in this area was signed in December 2005, during the second meeting of the Tajik-Ukrainian commission for economic cooperation in
Kiev
.

’s national company “Naftogaz” and coal industry ministry were charged to study the possibility of participation of Ukrainian companies in joint development and operation of the oil-gas and coal fields in
Tajikistan
,” Tajik energy official said.
According to him, at present the Ukrainian side is considering the possibility of launching joint ventures on developing and operating the Fon-Yaghnob and Nazar-Ayloq coalfields in
Tajikistan
