, February 14, Asia-Plus — A two-day seminar to discuss implementation of the project aimed at strengthening of primary healthcare services and providing aid in the province will be held in
Dushanbe
on February 15-16.
The seminar is staged by the Swedish Embassy and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in cooperation with Tajikistan Health Ministry, according to the Tajik health ministry’s press service.
The source says the Swedish Government is providing US$6 million to fund the project.
The project is one of components of the Community and Basic Health Project sponsored by the World Bank. The Community and Basic Health Project for Tajikistan aims to increase access to, utilization of, and patient satisfaction with health services in project-supported areas, and to build capacity and efficiency at national, regional and district levels in administering a basic package of health benefits and introducing financing reforms in primary health care.
“The seminar is aiming to discuss the ways of implementation of the project as well as issues related to SIDA’s supporting NGOs in implementation of the project,” the source said, adding that participants in the seminar also will consider how the project may facilitate healthcare reforms in

The project is supposed to be launched in
Tajikistan
in April this year.
