Tajikistan
do not meet state-fixed standards’ requirements.
According to information from the Agency for Standardization, Certification and Metrology “Tojikstandart”, the majority of them do not have certificates of quality for realized goods or their premises do not meet standards.
The Tojikstandart source has told Asia-Plus they inspected 789 facilities of the public catering and 2,306 shops for retail trade across the republic last year.
“Inspections revealed numerous shortcomings in 2,257 of 2,306 shops,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said, noting that many of them did not have certificate of quality for realized goods. Practically all inspected 789 public catering facilities (canteens) have been suspended from functioning for selling law-quality products, according to him.
“Besides, proceeding from the RT Law “On Protection of Consumers’ Rights” we have warned heads of the Dushanbe-based canteens “Nasimi Kuhsor” and “Khojamumin” as well as “Duet” caf? to remove shortcomings revealed in their activities,” the source said, adding that if they do not remove their shortcomings within a month they also will be suspended from functioning.
Last year, 874 heads of shops, entrepreneurs and salesmen fined a total of over 70,000 Somonis for not fulfilling standards’ requirements, according to the source.
