, February 17, Asia-Plus – In Tajikistan, people most die of heart, infectious and respiratory diseases, as well as accidents, according to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics.
Figures given by the Committee for Statistics show that compared to 2004 rate of mortality connected with heart diseases and high blood-pressure last year increased by 16.2 percent and amounted to 213 cases per 100,000 people.
Rate of mortality connected with diseases of digestion organs increased by 10.5 percent and mounted to 22 cases per 100,000 (1,500 people died).
As far as mortality connected with infectious diseases is concerned, compared to 2004 its rate increased by 8.3 percent amounted to 29 cases per 100,000 people (2,000 fatal cases) last year.
In the meantime, the rate of mortality connected with the respiratory organs last year diseased by 14.3 percent and amounted to 43 cases per 100,000 people (3,000 people died of respiratory diseases last year).
According to data provided by registry offices, 29,100 dead, including 2,000 children who did not survive their first year, were reported in

last year.
According to preliminary data, a general mortality rate in
Tajikistan
amounted to 4.3 per 1,000 people.
