DUSHANBE, February 17, Asia-Plus – A three-day session of the Tajik-Afghan intergovernmental commission for economic and trade cooperation will open in the Tajik capital on February 22.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Trade (MET),
Afghanistan
’s Economy Minister Mirmuhammad Farhang, Deputy Economy Minister Abdurrazoq Samadi, Deputy Energy and Water Minister Jalil Shams, Deputy Minister of Commerce Ziyovuddin Ziyo as well as governors of the Afghan provinces of Badakhshan, Kunduz and Takhor are arriving in
Tajikistan
to attend the session.
“It is the first session and it is aiming to consider expansion of trade, energy, industrial and agrarian cooperation between the two countries,” the MET source said.
Participants at the meeting are also supposed to touch upon issues of inter-bank and financial relations, cooperation in the areas of transportation, labor, sports, education, science and culture.
A special focus will be given to draft agreement between
Tajikistan
and
Afghanistan
on protecting investments and avoiding dual taxation.
