Tajikistan

Kyrgyzstan
t once, especially as to take into consideration that it is 911 kilometers in length, Khurshed Dodikhudoyev, head of the foreign policy department within the
Tajik
Center
for Strategic Studies, said.
According to him, there are at least 70 disputable stretches on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border and
Tajikistan
and
Kyrgyzstan
should resolve the problem through constructive negotiations. HE expressed hope that the issue of the border delineation between the two neighboring countries would be solved positively.
As it had been reported earlier, a session of the Tajik-Kyrgyz joint commission for delimitation and demarcation of common border opened in
Dushanbe
on February 27. Deputy Tajik Foreign Minister, Salohiddin Nasreddinov, and Salamat Alamanov, head of the department for legal regulation of border issues within the Kyrgyz Prime Minister’s Office, are co-chairmen of the commission. The session will last till March 2.
The Tajik-Kyrgyz joint commission for delimitation and demarcation of common border was established in 2003.
