AMUR technical center expected to assembly up to 350 trucks this year

DUSHANBE, January 24, 2011, Asia-Plus — The AMUR technical center in the city of Chkalovsk, Sughd province plans to assemble 300-350 trucks this year, according to the Ministry of Energy d Industries (MoEI).

The source at a MoEI says the center will assemble dump trucks, military trucks as well as fire-fighting and municipal vehicles. “The enterprise production capacity allows assembling up to 1,000 trucks per year,” said he. “Everything depends on orders for its product.”

This truck-assembling enterprise was officially opened in Chkalovsk on December 14, 2010.

The center was launched by Tajik-Russian joint venture, Khujand-ZiL, state unitary enterprise, Vostokredmet (Oriental Industrial Complex of Rare Metals), and Russia’s closed joint-stock company, AMUR (Automobiles and Motors of the Urals). The Russian side has invested in the establishment of the technical center and the Tajik side has provided production facilities and personnel.
