DUSHANBE, January 24, 2011, Asia-Plus — The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has set up a working group (WG) to monitor the situation in the agrarian sector.

The source at a MoA says WG is studying agricultural fields, in particular areas under cereals, against the backdrop of last year’s dry autumn from January 24 to February 1.

The group members include senior representatives from the MoA, heads of lower organizations and pest control specialists.  In case of necessity, they will take methodical and consultative measures to remove shortcomings and resolve arising problems, the source noted.

He added that minister of agriculture planned to visit Rasht district this year to get acquainted with the situation of the agrarian sector in the district.

“200 tons of high quality potato seeds, ten tractors TojIron and 15,000 young fishes were recently sent to Rasht,” said the source, “Besides, the center for selling spare parts for agricultural machines is expected to be established in the district soon.”
