60% discount has not yet been granted to Tajik national air carrier

DUSHANBE, January 25, 2011, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe International Airport plans to grant a 60-percent discount for airport, ground and air navigation services to the country’s national air carrier, Tajik Air, the Dushanbe airport deputy director general Aziz Ibrohimov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 24.

According to him, specialists are currently preparing all necessary documents that will be submitted for consideration to Tajik Air.

Ibrohimov added that Tajik Air now owed 28 million somoni to Dushanbe International Airport.

In the meantime, the government’s decree on regulation of rates of fees for airport, ground and air navigation services for Tajik Air was signed on October 30 and it took effect on November 1, 2010.

Representatives from Tajik Air say the discount will allow the national air carrier to renew its fleet with Western type modern economically effective aircraft, expand the geography of flights and improve quality of on-board services.
