DUSHANBE, May 31, 2011, Asia-Plus — In January-April 2011, residents of the city of Kulob and Danghara district in Khatlon province were the most incorrigible nonpayers in the country, Barqi Tojik power holding (the state-owned utility responsible for generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan) reports.
Over the report period, the rate of the collection of funds from the public for electricity consumption was little more than 50 percent in the city of Kulob and only 56 percent in Danghara district.
The highest rate of the collection of funds from the public for electricity consumption has been reported over the same four-month period in Rasht district – 92 percent. In Dushanbe, the rate of the collection of funds from the public over the report period was 72.7 percent.
In January-April 2011, an average rate of the collection of funds from the public for electricity consumption in Tajikistan was 67.9 percent.
