DUSHANBE, June 2, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Over the first five months of this year, Tajikistan has produced more than 31,483 tons of coals, which is 7,138 tons more than in the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI).

The source at a MoEI says 10 enterprises are now engaged in producing coals in Tajikistan.  “Nearly 50,000 tons of coals have been stockpiled in the country to date; this amount also includes last year’s remains,” he noted.

According to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, some 3,500 tons of coals have been imported into the country over the first four months of this year.
