DUSHANBE, June 28, 2011, Asia-Plus — Tajik Prime Minister Oqi Oqilov has called on entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia to consider issues related to their participation in investment projects in Tajikistan.
According to the Government Secretariat, Oqilov noted that on June 27 at the first meeting of the Council of Investors of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia that took place in the Tajik government countryside residence, Pugus, in Varzob district.
Tajik prime minister acquainted the meeting participants with measures taken by the Tajik government to improve the investment climate in the country. 55 investment projects for a total amount of US$1.8 billion are currently being implemented the country,” Oqilov said.
The meeting participants included senior representatives from some 30 Saudi companies. They reportedly showed interest in investing in sectors such civil aviation, tourism as well as the manufacture of plastic products and the processing of agricultural products.
On Tuesday June 28, the Saudi delegation members visited a number of industrial enterprises in Dushanbe and shared ideas on further implementation of joint investment projects.
