DUSHANBE, June 30, 2011, Asia-Plus — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received visiting delegation of entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia yesterday afternoon.
According to the presidential press service, the sides discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia. The sides reportedly called signing of a number cooperation documents for a total amount of 50 million U.S. dollars a good beginning.
In the course of the talks, the sides hailed an active work of three joint ventures – limited liabilities companies Amin Corporation, Farel and Avtodom.
Saudi entrepreneurs expressed satisfaction with stable situation in Tajikistan and expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Tajikistan in sectors like civil aviation, tourism, agriculture and banking system, the source said. Arab entrepreneurs reportedly stressed that owing to favorable entrepreneurial environment and stable situation Dushanbe might turn into Hong Kong of Central Asia in the future.
We will recall that the Saudi business delegation arrived in Tajikistan to participate in the first meeting of the Council of Investors of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia that took place in the Tajik government countryside residence, Pugus, in Varzob district on June 27.
Senior representatives from some 30 Saudi companies reportedly participated in the meeting. On June 28, the Saudi delegation members visited a number of industrial enterprises in Dushanbe and shared ideas on further implementation of joint investment projects.
