New enterprises for producing building materials to be introduced into operation soon

DUSHANBE, July 13, 2011, Asia-Plus — A new cement plant with annual capacity of 72,000 tons of cement is expected to be introduced into operation in Varzob district in September this year.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI), the new enterprise, called limited liability company Tajikistan, will create 180 new jobs.

Besides, three brickworks will be introduced into operation in Nourobod, Rasht and Mastchoh districts by the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, the source at a MoEI said.

According to the data from the MoEI, 160,000 tons of cement have been produced in Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, which is 8,800 tons more than in the some period last year.  Besides, 28 million pieces of bricks, 25,000 tons of lime and 49,000 square meters of glass have been produced in the country over the same six-month period.
