EBD expects Tajikistan’s GDP growth to stand at 6.1% this year

DUSHANBE, July 19, 2011, Asia-Plus — Macromonitoring released by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB)  on July 18 expects an average CIS gross domestic product (GDP) growth to stand at 4.5 percent in 2011 and 4.53 in 2012.

According to the EDB estimates, Tajikistan’s gross domestic product is expected to rise 6.1 percent in 2011.  In Turkmenistan, the GDP growth is expected to stand at 9.3 percent, in Uzbekistan – 7.8 percent, in Kazakhstan – 5.9 percent, and in Kyrgyzstan – 5.7 percent.

GDP growth in Russia and Ukraine is expected to stand at 4.5 percent in 2011.  The lowest GDP growths are expected in Azerbaijan, Moldova and Armenia – 3.9 percent, 41.1 percent and 4.3 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan reports Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose 5.2 percent in annualized terms in the January-June period this year, reaching 11.15852 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2.3 million U.S. dollars.
