IRNA has cited Mehdi Safari, Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, as saying that co-chaired Iran’s Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian and Tajik Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma, the Iran-Tajikistan joint commission for trade and economic cooperation will take place in Tehran from December 5-6.
The expansion of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different fields, including trade, finance, energy, transportation, industry, technical and engineering, health, investment, and tourism will be on the agenda of the commission’s session.
The previous, 14th session of the Tajikistan-Iran Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation was held six months ago in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.
According to data of the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Iran in January-September this year has valued at 157.2965 million U.S. dollars. This reportedly consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Iran estimated at 73.1245 U.S. million dollars and Tajikistan’s imports from Iran worth 84.172 U.S. million dollars.
