Damage caused by fires to Khatlon province last year amounts to 535,761 Somonis

QURGHON TEPPA, January 3, Asia-Plus – In 2005, 290 fires were reported in southern province of Khatlon, which is four cases more compared to the previous year, Asia-Plus has learned from Umed Rahmonov, a spokesman for the Khatlon firefighting service.  

A total damage caused by those 290 fires to the region’s economy has amounted to 535,761 Somonis, according to him.  Rahmonov also noted that heads of enterprises and organizations have been fined a total of 169,563 for not fulfilling requirements of the fire-prevention measures.

’s firefighting service.  Of them, four fires broke out in Bobojonghafurov District, one in Konibodom and one other in Khujand.  No injured was reported, according to the source.  A total damage caused by those six fires amounted to 2,400 Somonis.
