RIA Novosti reports that yesterday, a man wielding a knife burst into the synagogue in the center of
Moscow
during evening prayers and stabbed at least eight people. Among the injured are citizen of the
United States
, citizen of
Israel
and citizen of
Tajikistan
. Two of those injured are in a serious condition, RIA Novosti says.
Reports say the attacker was identified as a 20-year-old Muscovite. In recent years, there have been a number of attacks on synagogues and Jewish centers across
Russia
.
