Tajik power holding sends over 9,000 liters of diesel fuel to quake-affected area in Khatlon

DUSHANBE, August 9, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday August 8, the “Barqi Tojik” (Tajik electric systems) state joint-stock holding company sent more than 9,000 liters of diesel fuel to the earthquake-affected areas in the Khatlon province, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).  

Besides, local authorities of the Shahritus district in Khatlon have also provided emergency aid to the quake-affected people in the Qumsangir district.  The assistance included 120 kilograms of meat, 20 kilograms of tea, 100 liters of vegetable oil, and more than 300 kilograms of sugar.   

Emergency relief effort in southern Tajikistan continues, and international organizations continues providing emergency supplies to the victims of the two earthquakes that shook the Qumsangir district in the southern province of Khatlon on July 29, the MES source said.
