DUSHANBE, July 20, 2013, Asia-Plus – The Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan is expected to purchase eight Russian-made special rescue vehicles before the end of this year.
In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the first deputy head of CES, Major-General Abdusattor Khoushvakhtov, noted on July 19 that 5 million somoni have been allocated for purchase of those vehicles.
“Five of them are expected to arrive in Tajikistan in September,” Tajik emergencies official said, noting the price of each of those rescue vehicles equipped with rescue tools fluctuate from US$80,000 to US$150,000.
Last year, Tajikistan purchased only two such vehicles – one for Dushanbe rescuers and another one for Sughd rescuers.
