DUSHANBE, November 13, 2013, Asia-Plus — A moderate tremor could be felt in the southern province of Khatlon Tuesday night, according to the Dushanbe seismic station.
A moderate earthquake of 5.0 magnitude on the MSK-64 scale reportedly struck near the administrative center of the Shahritous district, Khatlon province yesterday at 9:30 pm.
The earthquake hit 25 kilometers southeast of the administrative center of the Shahritous district and 140 kilometers southwest of Dushanbe, the source said. No damage or injured has been reported so far.
The intensity of the tremor in the administrative center of the Shahritous district was evaluated at 4.0 on the MSK-64 scale and the tremor measuring 2.0 on the MSK-64 scale could be felt in Dushanbe.
We will recall that two quakes could be felt in central part of Tajikistan on November 10 and 11.
The November 10 earthquake reportedly destroyed 118 homes and partially damaged 259 homes in the villages adjacent to the Vahdat Township. Twelve persons have sustained various injuries in the earthquake.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 5.0 on the MSK-64 scale, was near the village of Andigon in Vahdat, some 26 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe. In Dushanbe, the quake reportedly measured 4.0 on the MSK-64 scale.
A moderate earthquake of 3.0 magnitude on the MSK-64 scale reportedly could be felt in Dushanbe on November 11 at 7:03 am.
