DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus – Three persons have been arrested over the deadly fire at the “Chorbogh” orphanage in Dushanbe and charges have been brought against five other persons, Asia-Plus has learned from Dushanbe prosecutor Habibullo Vohidov.
According to him, the investigation into this matter is nearing completion. Vohidov says investigation has revealed numerous instances of violation of financial-economic activity of this facility. Bahodur Saidov, supplier with the limited liability company “YuNI-Stroy”, has been detained after charges of embezzlement of state funds have been brought against him, according to the
Dushanbe
prosecutor.
As it had been reported earlier, Sadullo Yatimov, the director of the orphanage, and Ilhom Ashurov, who worked as bursar with the orphanage, were arrested in January for negligence.
Besides. Charges have been brought against Sunatullo Mirzoyev, inspector of firefighting service in the Somoni district of Dushanbe, Mirali Quvvataliyev, electrician with the orphanage, as well as two nurses.
“I believe the investigation will be completed within the next few days and move to courts,” the

prosecutor said.
We will recall that a fire broke out at the “Chorbogh” orphanage in
Dushanbe
early on January 8, killing at least 13 children and leaving two others with injures. The fire totally engulfed the building, which housed about 95 children with intellectual disabilities. Initial reports suggested an electrical problem sparked the blaze.
