and the case will move to courts within the next few days, according to press service of the Khatlon prosecutor’s office.
Mr. Sirojiddin Rizoyev, who had headed the Energy Department at the
Qurghon
Teppa
Polytechnic
College
, faces charges of corruption and swindling.
Abdulahad Qurboniyon, a spokesman for the Khatlon prosecutor’s office, has told Asia-Plus that Sirojiddin Rizoyev and Sharifamo Salimova, who had worked as laboratory assistant with College’s Energy Department, were detained in August 2005 on suspicion of having taken bribe. “The preliminary investigation has established that they took a bribe of US$300 from Izzatullo Safarov for his entering the college.”
