, March 15, Asia-Plus – Senior experts from the CIS states will gather in the Tajik capital for a three-day meeting to discuss issues related to holding of the next session of the CIS council of interior ministers.
The meeting will open at the “Kokhi Vahdat” State Complex in
Dushanbe
on March 16. Representatives from the CIS states to the CIS council of interior ministers are supposed to discuss holding of the next session of the CIS council of interior ministers scheduled for late April this year, Abdurrahim Qahhorov, First Deputy Tajik Interior Minister, said.
According to him, the CIS interior ministers’ session is aiming to consider a progress of implementation of a joint plan of combating terrorism, organized crime and corruption in 2006.
“Following the CIS interior ministers’ session a joint antiterrorist exercise will be conducted on the
territory
of
Tajikistan
,” said Qahhorov, “Special sub-units of a number of the CIS states will take part in this exercise.”
The last session of the CIS council of interior ministers was held in the Armenian capital of
Yerevan
on
September 30, 2005
