Three kilos of heroin detained in Dushanbe and some 4 kilos of heroin detained in Sughd yesterday

DUSHANBE, March 16, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday March 15, officers of the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) seized some three kilograms of heroin in the Sino district of Dushanbe.  

According to information from Tajik drug police, the drugs were found in a car “Nexia” belonging to the 35-year-old resident of Tursunzoda Mirzobarot Shukurov.  Shukurov was arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  

On the same day, officers from the Sughd drug police directorate detained the resident of the Istaravshan district Zarif Mirbarakayev when he was trying to push 1.858 kilograms of heroin at US$2,500.  

The other case of drug trafficking was reported in the northern district of Isfara.  When searching a car “VAZ-2107” belonging to the Konibodom resident Nodir Nazarov at the traffic police checkpoint near the Kim settlement police found 1.913 kilograms of heroin.  Investigation is under way.
